India and Kenya share a long history of maritime engagement across the Indian Ocean. As key maritime nations, both countries remain committed to fostering maritime ties and enhancing trust, understanding and interoperability between their Navies, the Ministry of Defence said in a press release.

During the port call, personnel of the Indian and Kenyan Navies will participate in a range of professional and social engagements, including interactions, cross-learning and cultural exchanges. These activities will provide opportunities for both sides to share experiences and enhance interoperability, it said.

Community outreach activities will also be undertaken, providing naval personnel from both countries an opportunity to engage beyond the professional domain. Sports and community service activities will further foster camaraderie and cultural understanding, the ministry said.
